Welcome to Typografreaks! This is THE club for dedicated typo artists, graffiti artists and visual poets! If you dig the typo style, then ADD US TO YOUR FRIENDS' LIST Well get back to you, and add you to the members page.

After you have joined, show your love for the community and set the ball rolling by adding our icon into your journal, and name into your siggy. That way, we can attract all the typography artists on Deviant Art!

Feedback about the club is appreciated; in the future, Typografreaks will host competitions and battles to get all of you guys involved. We will also offer fonts and brush packs for you to download, so be sure to stay tuned!

Piece on Typography

I recognise no division between typography and illustration, illustration and graphic design; the same asthetic concerns underline them all.
However, of them all, type designs seems the sharpest tool to with which to probe the subatomic realms of form and shape like some Psycist in the laboratory of the visual. The essentials of curve and line, vertical, horizontal are upfront immidiate concerns that still, on larger real-life scales, can convey a specific atmosphere that can range from a futurastic twenty-year-old TV optimism to yesterday's cracked Paris Metro vinyl warning sign. These connotations are merely a starting point: a font is available to other designers, and the usage (and abusage) it gets after it leaves its creator will shape its perceived meaning in ways that are impossible to foresee. Type evolves after escaping the design laboratory, and the most virulent strains that end up articulating the zeitgiest have a life all their own.
